The Gosnells Community Men’s Shed initiated the establishment of the Memorial Wall and partnered the Rotary Club of Kenwick and Amaroo Village in its development on a site adjacent to the Shed.

Shed members assist in keeping the gardens and memorial area tidy in conjunction with Amaroo staff.

The memorial Wall was completed in 2015 as part of the centenary of the end of WW1. It includes commemorative plaques that honour Gosnells residents involved in WW2, either in the services or home service.

The plaques were originally installed as a part of the heritage listed Memorial Avenue of trees along the driveway from Lissman Street to the Lewis Homestead.

The London Plane trees that formed the Memorial Avenue were removed in November 2017 for health reasons.
