Donations as low as the cost of a cup of coffee will help support a great local cause.

Direct Donation

Every bit helps! Donations can be one off or easily set up as a convenient regular direct debit. From as low as $5 a week (cost of a coffee) you can make a real difference to our organisation, its members and through them, the local community. Our Shed is a registered Deductible Gift Recipient with the Australian Taxation Office, and gifts of $2 and more are tax-deductible.

Bequest Donation

There are many different ways a bequest can be set up in favour of our organisation. By including us in your will, you will know that you will be remembered for the difference your generosity will make. Bequests will help us maintain and improve our facilities for the benefit of all current and future members.

Donors may well ask how the donated funds will be used.

Bequests can be specific and targeted towards certain outcomes selected by the donor. General bequests are more useful to an organisation.

With all donations, the legal requirements of the Australian Charities and Not-For- Profits Commission (ACNC) must be complied with by registered organisations such as our Shed.

Depending on the needs at the time, donated funds will be used in accordance with sound management decisions to continue to improve the facilities available and ensure the long-term sustainability of the organisation.

It is not proposed that donations be used to directly subsidise membership fees.

What are the key areas of expenditure for the Men’s Shed?

Most Men’s Sheds will admit that areas such as insurance, equipment upgrades and replacement, materials and utility costs are the main areas of expenditure. There are other costs associated with items such as training and safety, which vary from shed to shed. In our case we operate a tight budgeting system and endeavour to keep essential costs to a minimum and discretionary expenditure to essential items.

Why donate to our shed?

There are several ways to look at this question.

From a management perspective we believe we have a strong track record in maintaining a healthy set of accounts with the sustainability of the organisation paramount in our decision-making.

From a community perspective, we believe that Men’s Sheds generally provide great value for each dollar spent as we assist in the local community. In our case, the mental and physical health benefits of belonging and attending our Shed are outstanding.

We have no paid employees, there are no benefits available for members other than the usual benefit of belonging to a great organisation.

Activities

We are a lot more than a woodworking club. We consider ourselves a "club of clubs" where we have a wide variety of workshops, social groups, fitness activities, outings, community projects plus a lot more.

Your donation helps us provide quality facilities, equipment, consumables and safety for all our members.
