Local & Family History

The group includes members with an interest in history with a particular emphasis on local and family history. The group meets every Wednesday afternoon from 1.00 pm in the heritage listed Lewis Homestead at the shed site.

The purpose of the group is to encourage members to explore and contribute to the knowledge of local history and discuss, share and research their own or others family history.

A joint project has been proposed studying the history of the immediate area surrounding the Lewis Homestead, which will involve contributions by participating members.

Each session is divided into a mixture of round table discussion with the balance of hands-on practical assistance on different genealogical programs, problem-solving and sharing experience.

Beginners are welcome to one of the greatest and most popular hobbies and will be encouraged and assisted. No experience is necessary, only an interest in history.
